SPAM is a form of large-scale consumer unwanted messaging intrusion - often based on a mis-appropriation of a consumer's messaging address and identity attributes that in many jurisdictions may subject the sender of unwanted messaging to civil or criminal penalties. Prevention of SPAM requires an array of IdM support capabilities including authentication of the messaging servers, white lists, black lists, and reputational or other signature analysis techniques.
