This is where the Architecture group is going to post their list of Architectures.

In reading the output document from the first meeting of the FG, I cam accross text which said "One of the tasks of the FG IdM will be to do a gap analysis (see Figure 2.1.2). From the figure the following can be said:  There are gaps related to the exchange, correlation and linkage of the identity related information between the different planes (user, application/service and network) that needs to be investigated. Example gaps are: o Data model for exchange (pull and push) of identity related information between the network and application/service (e.g., application requesting and the network providing location or network address information as generic objects) o Architectural model to allow correlation of the identity related functions in the different planes (e.g., user control process, application process and network functions) to allow interoperability (i.e., bridging of existing functions and capabilities) and adherence to policy controls o Model to support user control of certain network related preferences (e.g., user control of network/service provider preferences and privacy attributes)

[Here is a three-silo graphic which would not copy.]

Figure 2.1.2 Gap analysis"

The text implies that the three silos should talk with each other and so the three overlap areas between the three silos constitute the gaps to be investigated. But the graphic has the word "gap" in the central area where the three silos overlap. Maybe I am reading too much into the graphic, but it appears that maybe what the FG intends to investigate is the nature of that three-way overlap in order to provide a more flexible and elegant solution to interworking (perhaps at the expense of increased complexity).

Is it clear to everyone else?
