Introduction

In the context of civil or criminal proceedings, most legal systems have bodies of rules and procedures that pertain to the identification and availability of evidence and its availability to opposing parties (judicial discovery). With the transition of many forms of evidence to digital form, some court systems have begun to impose organizational records keeping requirements that facilitate judicial discovery.
